Dr Yvonne Looi is a Joyologist. She holds a first class honors in Science, a pHD in Biological Science and is certified in Laughter and the Science of Happiness.
Yvonne is currently actively spreading laughter and joy in Singapore to close to 10000 people now. Her clients include private organizations like UOB, ST Engineering, BASF, People's Association, NTUC, Pfizer, AMEX, J&J.
Her program has reached various government bodies like Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Finance, HDB, High Commission of India, Singapore Police Force, National Heritage Board, MOE Institutes, NUS and numerous charity organizations in Singapore.
As part of her social initiative to spread joy on the island, she organizes two monthly ongoing events: Laughter After Work and Live Love Laugh. They are held alongside the iconic Singapore River and Singapore Botanic Gardens and are free for the public. Her team Nation Of Joy currently has a total of 8 free community laughter clubs with more to come this year.
Her work has been featured on the local media, magazines and various online platforms. She has been interviewed on Yahoo Singapore, live show on local TV station Channel 5 and Channel 8. She believes in the shiny inner joy that is within us all and it is her mission to grow a nation of joy on the island of Singapore and to the world!

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was fascinated by all things joyful, she wonders why some people are happy whilst some are not. She realized that most people yearn for a life full of joy, laughter and connectedness. She is curious why is it that we learn subjects in school which are practical like mathematics, history and science yet we are not taught essential skills like to how to truly smile, laugh and embrace life, how to get in touch, to connect with ourselves and the world around us. She became more intrigue with what makes us happy, what gives us fulfillment and sense of meaning. She began to explore and immerse herself in the science and the social aspect behind happiness as she experience the joy for herself.
She went on to understand and equip herself with the skills and research behind laughter and happiness. She realized that the journey to inner joy really is simple and attainable and that with guidance, everyone can raise their level of happiness and find more meaning in life. She believes that life should be a vivid and rich adventure, fun, bright and genuine with a consistent note of joy. From that belief, she created her tailored programs with roots in science and branches out into interactive and experiential programs where joy blossoms.
