Alina Bezuglova is an entrepreneur, now taking some time off to support fellow startups. Currently working as a Marketing Manager at Central Research Laboratory (CRL), London-based hardware accelerator, she has become an advocate for hardware innovation. Prior to joining CRL, Alina worked for a VC-backed startup, supported a number of accelerators, such as MassChallenge and Rockstart, and was in charge of creating bespoke investment-led accelerator for a VC firm.
Alina is excited about supporting the startup ecosystem with hardware becoming her new obsession. Currently she is working on a new book that follows her entrepreneurial journey into hardware innovation to increase the chances of success for hardware startups.
Russian born, having lived in 3 countries for the past 10 years, Alina prides herself as a world citizen. She loves meeting ambitious people, and seeing the spark in their ideas is what keeps her attracted to startups. A postgraduate from Cranfield University and University of Exeter, she has a background in business, marketing and strategic design. In her free time, Alina runs startup events, provides mentorship to crowdfunding projects and startups, and is a well-rounded person in general with great passion for dancing, music, playing the piano and traveling.

Ashley Sayed is the Operations Director and one of the founders of the Central Research Laboratory, a hardware accelerator for startups. He has worked for and consulted with some of the biggest brands you know, including Microsoft, Tomtom, Motorola, Apple, Fitbit, Philips, Foxconn, Huawei and many more. He has successfully pitched on Dragons’ Den, developed the very first smartphone for Microsoft, and even appeared on BBC’s Masterchef.
He is also a respected entrepreneur having setup and run his own product development consultancy and successfully brought to market the first child-focussed tablet featuring antibacterial technology. He is currently working on a new book right now about how to create a successful hardware startup.
Most importantly, Ashley provides expert mentorship to startups to help them define a clear route to market by teaching lean methodologies, design for manufacture and understanding the importance of early adopters, through blogs, speeches and workshops. Ashley is dedicated to using growth techniques to provide traction in order to make your business scalable.
Ashley is born and bred in South London, having studied Product Design Engineering at the University of Westminster.
