An avid traveler with her year resolution to travel to a country she's never been before. Much of her traveling been inspired by places where her guests are residing. To date, she visited 34 countries and over 160 cities. She prefers the road less taken, wandering around the streets because the journey is more important than the destination. With her travel knowledge, she founded @footcray a custom travel itinerary company to create a traveling journey that matches to what traveling means for each individuals.
From being in the fashion industry, a contemporary nail art designer trained from Tokyo to venturing out in the start-up company, she realised her passion still lies in hosting and meeting people.
She enjoys to cook and bake. During her free time, she helps out her friends to make 'kueh' at their central kitchen. Perhaps one of the reason why her guests love her is because she always feed and sharing great eating spots around Asia with them.

Synopsis

For the past decade, home-sharing has changed the way we travel. There is scepticism using such platforms with many horror stories being publicised in the media. This book intends to reverse that mindset and collectively bringing you meaningful wisdom. Through hosting, it provides the opportunity for the host to travel the world thru the eyes of the guest without leaving their home. For the guest, staying with a local host allowed them to dive into local culture immediately. According to Adam Galinsky, a professor at Columbia Business School, 'visiting a foreign place and immersing yourself in their local environment, increases your cognitive flexibility consequently giving a boost to your creativity'. After the first year of hosting, Yuan decided to give up her comfortable 9-6 job to follow her passion. She hosted single ladies who flew across the world to embarked a new journey, be it for career or relationship. They inspired her decision making which she never thought that it was possible.

"My Home, Our Stories" highlights her journey as a host with great stories of her guests coming from different part of the world. There were invaluable lessons she learnt throughout being a host for the past 8 years. From being a solo traveller, learning of new cultures, gender identity to women’s empowerment. Being an Airbnb superhost consecutively for the past 5 years, she wants to share what does it take to be a superhost and job as a host.
