About the author

Alyss J. Anderson has been writing poems since she was fourteen as a hobby. The love of writing that kept growing conceived the idea of writing a book in her mid-thirties. She put writing on hold for awhile, because she had a child with autism. When he became school-aged, she had a little more free time to focus on a book. She didn't stop writing when he was an infant, she just wasn't able to write as often as she did before. She started writing her first book when she was thirty-nine. She finished her first book, and had several stories started at the age of forty-three. She had the love for horror since she was a child. She grew up reading Stephen King books and watching horror movies. As she got older the horror moved into the music she listens to, and is now a big fan of horror-core rap as well as the books and movies she grew up with.  She was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She moved to Louisiana in 2003. She moved back to her home town in Pa in 2012. She now calls Detroit, Michigan home. She is in the works of  an online magazine called Celebrating Detroit.

Synopsis

Paul and Jamie Demented were victims of abuse and torment as children. They found an escape from it in music but that just wasn't enough. They wanted to be heroes by ridding the world of Monsters like they encountered as children. Monsters that are Humans consumed with the Darkness within their minds.

Are Paul and Jamie vigilantes or are they just like the monsters they wish to destroy? The answers lie within the Darkness of the Mind. Follow Paul and Jamie Demented on their Journey to the Darkness.

My book not only entertains those in the horror community it shows that there are people out in society just like the ones in the book. Everyone has darkness in them it all depends on how much they allow in. The more darkness they let consume them the less light they will have. You can't have light without darkness. You need to find the right balance between the two.

Audience

My primary market is aged 18 and up horror fans, and those who are looking for stories that grab their attention. I did my own research on who would find my stories interesting. Most people who read my first book, and a sample of this book say my books grab their attention and keep it when it's hard for other books to do that.

I connect with my target audience on twitter, Facebook, snapchat, Instagram, and other social media. I also have a blog, website, and a chatroom on my website where my target audience can chat with me personally. I am in a lot of book groups on Facebook. I use word of mouth a lot. When I see someone reading a book in a library I suggest my book without them knowing I'm the author. I donate my books to local libraries.

Eyes of the Predator: The Pickham County Murders by Glenn Trust

Hunting the killer and preventing the next brutal murder falls to a plainspoken country deputy and two agents of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The chase leads north from the swamps along the Florida line to the foothills of the Appalachians.

Cruelty on Innocents ( The 911 Abductions #1) by C.K. Webb DJ Weaver
Who’s abducting children from 911 emergency scenes?

What if you were in your car alone with your small child and you came upon an emergency scene? Would you stop to help? What if, while you are trying to assist a victim of an accident or mugging, you left your young child alone in the car, thinking he or she would be safe. What if, instead of help, the call to 911 brought a terrifying, sinister result?

Someone’s abducting children from 911 emergency scenes in Aberdeen Maryland, while their parents call for help and lend aid to accident victims. Someone who’s also listening in, is a monster and vicious child abductor. In the midst of the chaos and confusion of the scene, that monster slips in and steals the innocent children leaving behind no trace for authorities.

Sloanne Kelly is unprepared for what awaits in her hometown as she travels back to Maryland. Her goddaughter is one of the victims and the clock is ticking. Together with her best friend and a local fireman, Shawn Tyler, Sloanne will face the most insidious of criminals and fight to recover the children before there is anymore, Cruelty to Innocents.

My books differ from all of these books, because my main characters Paul and Jamie Demented are portrayed as victims, heroes, and villains, not necessarily in that order.
