Synopsis

Many families are disconnected with little or no communication, and all while your kids are slammed constantly with news about school shootings, sex trafficking, and bullying on social media. Yet, oftentimes, no one is helping them navigate their way through it and no one wants to talk about the "real" issues or provide direction on how to overcome these current events and social environments. Our educational system is falling short and not designed to teach the necessary skills our kids need to navigate through their childhood.

Kids are having emotional struggles, which includes a lack of self-esteem, and it is far too common for them to have or express suicidal thoughts. Parents must do more, show more, and realize that our kids are our greatest teachers. Learning together, evolving together, and choosing to change can drastically improve our lives at home and in relationships with your children.

In A Suicidal Son, Cassie Eads, a Life Mastery Consultant and CEO of Listen Within To Win, describes the lessons she learned in great detail when her 8-year old son first shared his suicidal thoughts with her. His reasons introduced her to a world of heartbreak initially, that she came to understand was actually a gift. In her mission to not fail her sons, Cassie gains a tremendous amount of insight into the struggles that both our kids and us as parents, face.

Speaking and teaching in classrooms of all ages, in front of parents and hearing first hand from both sides, Cassie has been able to see and examine the communication gaps that can take place between a parent and child. In this book, Cassie works towards rebuilding that connection and shares skills that can foster a relationship of compassion, empathy, and even joy. It all starts at home, within each of us. By educating our youth and ourselves in addition to setting aside the labels and titles we will change the future of our society.
